[welcome] Hey All. Just want to say hi to all you people out there in the world. I've probably been a member of almost every Web Group out there at one time or another. Been on the Web since the Web's been out here.
Not trying to hook up with anyone. Just wanting to meet new people from all over the world. Been to a lot of different countries in my lifetime, and there are many more I'd like to visit
So if you see me on here, just say hi. I'll say hi back to ya.

I'm sure that everyone has heard what happened at Va. Tech. this week. What a tragic event to have happened. My prayers go out to all the victims and their families and friends.
I know that a lot of things are going to come out about guns and gun control and a whole lot of other stuff in general. I know a lot of people won't agree with me on this issue, but it's my stand on the whole gun issue and gun control laws.
First of all, GUNS do not kill PEOPLE!! People kill people! It wouldn't matter if there were no guns in the world at all, people would just find something else. That's the way it has always been since the days of Adam and Eve.
Second, gun control laws are useless! The only ones who obey the law are non-criminals. If criminals obeyed the law, they wouldn't be criminals. So what happens when you take guns, or any weapon for that matter, away from law abiding people? You create a whole lot of victims. Statistics prove it. Canada, Great Britian and Australia are good cases in general. How many of you people who live in those 3 countries feel safer now that "all" guns are banned for law abiding people. I know the criminals are loving the fact that you are now totally defenseless. Crime rates in those 3 countries have more than tripled since gun bans have gone into effect. Your crime rates are now higher than they are in the U.S.
Third, and I feel very strongly about this, most of the shootings that have taken place in the past years have been in places where guns are banned. Schools, offices, work places. The people in those places had no way to defend themselves. As I said earlier, I am truly saddened by what happened this past week, but what makes it even worse is how defenseless those people were. How many lives would have been saved if just one of the victims had access to any kind of weapon and been able to fight back.
Think about it for just a moment. Imagine yourself in their position. Wouldn't you rather fight back? I know I would. How many criminals would think twice about breaking into someone's house or attacking a young lady on a dark street, if they were not sure if their "victims" weren't armed to the teeth.
Law abiding people don't commit crimes, criminals commit crimes. So if you take guns and other weapons away from law abiding people, who does that leave with all the weapons.
These are the way I see things. I know some will not agree with me and some will. That's OK, because we all live in a free society, don't we? ;)
Dislikes
All politicians in general. Especially Republicans and Democrats. Sorry people, I am an Independent, which means I don't need some STUPID Politician telling me where I should stand on any issue. I vote for who I like, and I decide where I stand on the issues. What can I say. My family has been in this country and in Canada since 1658. We were definetly Independents then, and we still are today.
Music
Everything: Rock, Heavy Metal, Country, Classical, Oldies. You name it, and I've probably listened to it.

hello! Thanks for visiting my page! I read your profile and I gave you 10s, but don't feel the need to give them back. I very rarely even look at it the votes, so it would be a waste of time really. But Happy New Year! :)

dragonmaster75's reply:
Thanks Sarah. Happy New Year to you too. And it wasn't a waste of time. :)
